Kevin Ryan, Ph.D., President of The Executive Writer, has been a writing instructor and freelance writer for more than 25 years. He has taught successful writing techniques to employees from American Express, Amgen, General Electric, Motorola, Proctor & Gamble, the State of Utah, United Way, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and other government agencies and corporations.
Dr. Ryan is the author of the business-writing book, Write Up the Corporate Ladder (AMACOM Books), and his articles have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, PC Magazine, The Iowa Review, Business Communication Quarterly, and in other national publications. He is the former co-editor of Quarterly West magazine, and he taught writing for more than eight years at the University of Utah, California State University at Northridge, and Santa Monica College.
Dr. Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Writing & Literature from the University of Utah, and an M.A. and B.A. in English from U.C.L.A. His business background, publications, and academic experience place The Executive Writer business-writing courses among the most effective in the field.
